Competition Day

Members Competition

It is competition time again for all of our members. Whether you are new to the club or a seasoned handler, this day is for you and we encourage you all to take part.

Classes 1A to 2B enter the Members Competition. All exercises will be those covered in your class, so you are ready for this. We do recommend that you do not get a promotion to a higher class the week before the trial as you will be unfamiliar with any new exercises introduced for that class.

Don’t be disheartened if your dog does not perform at their best on the day, this happens! Have fun with your dog and enjoy the experience. Your judge will be one of our instructors so they will be able to give you guidance on where to focus your training. Food rewards are permitted in the ring so please use them.

If you would like to know more about our club competitions, ask your instructor for more information.

Achievement Trial

For members in class 3 or higher, who would like to enter open trials, sanctioned by the Canine Association of WA, NST&ODC Achievement trials are an ideal opportunity to prepare and decide whether you and your dog are ready.

Perhaps you are not interested in open trials, but did you know that NST&ODC has equivalent club titles? Four Achievement trials are run each year under competition regulations but for our members only. Once you have achieved 3 qualifying scores for your class, you are eligible for a club title and possibly an end of year award.

If you would like more information about our club competitions, ask your instructor for more information.
